With all that 2020 has thrown at us, it’s important to refocus on our resilience as humans. One’s ability to bounce back from adverse circumstances would be harder fought without the support of friends, family, and for many, a local non-profit. It can be the difference between not having a meal or a dignified place to rest. Shop BuzzFeed is proud to announce for the month of November, we will be donating 10% of the store’s profits to The Midnight Mission.
Founded in 1914, The Midnight Mission, located in Los Angeles, offers paths to self-sufficiency to men, women and children who have lost direction. Their emergency services and 12-step recovery, family living, job training, education and workforce development programs offer a compassionate bridge to achieve and maintain healthy, productive lives. They remove obstacles and provide the accountability and structure that people who are experiencing homelessness need to thrive in their communities. Their emergency services include offering 3 healthy meals a day, 7 days a week to people experiencing homelessness, serving close to a million meals a year! The Midnight Mission has been helping people experiencing homelessness, giving them the opportunity to rediscover their resilience and forge a new path to self-sufficiency.
We want to thank Kelsey Impicchiche for shining a light on the issue of homelessness, especially during the holiday season. We are proud to contribute to a nonprofit well-versed in the role a community can play at critical touchpoints in people’s lives. Each month, our Giving Back Initiative strives to give back to those who have provided positive contributions to society, to those who fight to provide healing opportunities to those who experience inequity each day and to those who work tirelessly to put food in the hands of those who need it. For these champions, Shop BuzzFeed is honored to announce that we will be donating 10% of the stores’ profits each month to a different charitable organization that shares our commitment.
